Through to 32

March Madness continues and three Bahamian players were in action in their respective regions last night.

In the East region it was Buddy Hield and the third ranked Oklahoma Sooners advancing with a 69-60 win over the 14th ranked Albany Great Danes.

Hield finished with 15 points and four rebounds.

Also in the East region, Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn Jr and the seventh ranked Michigan State Spartans advanced with a 70-63 win over the 10th ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

Nairn finished with three points, three rebounds and three assists.

The West region was unkind to Bahamians as it produced a pair of eliminations.

Tristian Curtis and number 16 Coastal Carolina were eliminated by the top ranked Wisconsin Badgers 86-72. Curtis finished with six rebounds.

Whether it was the quick turnaround from Tuesday night or the emotional and physical toll spent to earn a berth in the round of 64, the Ole Miss Rebels simply did not have enough to survive and advance.
Dwight Coleby and the No. 11 Rebels fell 76-57 to the Xavier Musketeers, the No. 6 seed in the region, at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida Wednesday.

Coleby finished with four points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, one steal and one assist in his foul plagued time on the floor.

The round of 32 tips off today but you can see both of our Bahamian players in action on Sunday.

The Spartans will take on the second seeded Virginia Cavaliers at 12:30pm on CBS while the Sooners will face number 11 Dayton at 6:30pm on TNT.
