The Bahamas senior men’s national team knew they were in a must win situation, and in front of the home crowd, they took control of their own destiny.
Team Bahamas defeated Cuba 97-74 last night at the Kendal Isaacs Gym to open the third window of Americup Qualifiers.
Tavario Miller Sr came out the gate strong, imposing his will against the cuban front line.
He scored a team high 26 points on 80 % shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds.
Also for team Bahamas, Dominick Bridgewater scored 16, Sammy Hunter scored 14, Franco Miller Jr had 12, while Garvin Clarke Jr tallied 10 points and 7 assists.
Team Bahamas takes on team USA, the number one ranked team in the world, on sunday and with it being the last home game of the qualifiers and Miller Sr knows that the fans bring them that extra energy to get over the hump.
It also was the first win for John Lucas III as the head coach of the national team.
Game time is against the usa set for sunday at 7:10 pm at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
