Game one set the tone for each of the baiss championship series as the finals got underway yesterday at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
The St.John’s College Giants junior girls and senior boys, the Jordan Prince William Falcons junior boys, and the Kingsway Academy Saints senior girls are now all one win away from the championship title.
In the final game of the night, the Giants’ senior boys pulled away in the second half for a 76-60 win over the Queen’s College Comets.
Leonardo Rolle led the Giants with 24 points and Joshua Russell scored 18.
D’alfer Gibson, Deren Moultrie, and Ron Demeritte all finished with eight.
Daniel Rolle led the Comets with 21 points and Devon Davis scored 10 off the bench.
The Giants also won the first game of the afternoon when their junior girls defeated the CW Saunders Cougars 34-20.
Zuri Hanna led a balanced Giants scoring attack with eight points while Melodi Ferguson and Dania Rolle each scored six.
Alyssa Bain led the cougars with a game high 12.
In the senior girls division, the Saints had the most dominant performance of the night with a 40-19 win over the Giants.
Andica Curtis outscored the Giants with a game high 22 points and Michayla Joseph scored six.
And finally, in the junior boys division, the Falcons defeated the Giants 51-42.
