Senior Guard Michael Carey had a huge game for Wagner University Seahawks against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights last night, putting up 32 points on 11 of 15 shooting from the floor. Carey showcased his all-around game adding 10 rebounds, 3 assists and one block while going 11-15 from the floor and 3-4 from the three point line. He was also able to capitalize at the free throw line making all seven of his seven attempts. Carey left it all out on the floor played 39 out of a possible 40 minutes of last night’s game.
The Seahawks would need every single one of the Nassau native’s points only narrowly escaping the Knights by a score of 72-70. Carey’s teammate JoJo Cooper scored the layup to put Wagner ahead for the final time with 1:41 left in the game.
Carey has been on a tear as of late averaging 17 points and almost 10 rebounds over the last five games for a Seahawks team witha 16-13 record hoping to make a push in the Northeast Conference tournament and get into the NCAA National Tourney.
Carey’s final game as a Wagner University Seahawk is on senior day this Saturday at noon against St. Francis University of Pennsylvania.
