NASSAU , BAHAMAS – Bahamian national team boxers Anai Powell and Keanu Greene are taking their preparation to the international level, completing high-performance training camps in Mexico and the Dominican Republic ahead of future international competition.

The camps were led by Coach Vicente Martinez, head of the Champion Spirit Boxing Academy, with the initiative designed to provide the two boxers with high-level training and international exposure.

The training included sessions in an environment featuring a large number of athletes, intense preparation and elite coaching.

The initiative was facilitated with support from Champion Spirit, with the goal of giving Bahamian athletes access to the training, resources and competition environments needed to prepare at the highest level.

Champion Amateur Boxing Academy has also hosted talent identification searches and fight cards at its facility to help rejuvenate the local boxing scene.

Inter Miami CF Foundation and Royal Caribbean brought their International Youth Fútbol Clinic to The Bahamas for the first time Monday, giving 120 young players from local public schools a chance to learn from Inter Miami Academy coaches.

The clinic was held at Roscow Davies Field for players ages nine to 12, with the sessions focusing on skill development, confidence and teamwork.

Inter Miami Academy homegrown defenders Izzy Boatwright and Tyler Hall also joined the young players, sharing their journeys and showing off their skills.

Before the clinic, Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami visited T.A. Thompson School, providing breakfast for hundreds of children.

The Bahamas clinic marked the seventh International Youth Fútbol Clinic hosted by the partnership in 2026, with previous stops including Peru, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Argentina.

UB Mingoes Soccer

After a weather delay, the University of The Bahamas men’s soccer team picked up its second straight win on the international tour, defeating Atlantis University 6-3 yesterday at Kendall Soccer Park in Miami.

Clerdjivensky Clerjuste and Samora Saunders scored within a minute of each other to give UB an early 2-0 lead, before Nahum Johnson added his first goal of the season in the 17th minute.

Captain Ronaldo Green then scored twice, including a penalty, and defender Joshua Johnson dribbled from the centre line to score his first goal of the season as UB built a 6-0 lead in the 31st minute.

Atlantis scored once before halftime and added two more goals in the second half, but UB held on for the 6-3 win.

The victory moves UB to 2-0-1 on its international tour, and Head Coach Alex Thompson says the win was especially meaningful after the program had never beaten Atlantis in their previous four meetings.
