BAISS Sudden Death Playoffs Underway

The BAISS basketball playoffs got underway at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium yesterday and the games were just as closely contested as you would expect from your two versus three matchups.

In the senior boys division, the Queen’s College Comets rallied in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Jordan Prince William Falcons for a 67-62 win.

Talon Higgs scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Comets closed the game on an 8-2 run and Tashawn Taylor led QC with 22 points.

Trevon Clarke led the Falcons with a game high 27 points.

In senior girls, the St. John’s College Giants had the only lopsided win of the night with a 40-22 win over the St. Augustine’s College Big Red Machine.

Lebronique Demeritte scored 12 points to lead the Giants while Ketra Poitier scored 10.

Alyssa Bain led the cougars with a game high 18 points and Laila Lenard scored 13.

Marea Pickstock led the Big Red Machine 17 points.

In the junior girls division, the CW Saunders Cougars advanced with a 43-36 win over the Big Red Machine.

And finally in the junior boys division, the Jordan Prince William Falcons defeated CW Saunders, 36 – 33.

Alijah Pierre scored 21 for the Falcons.

The playoffs continue tonight at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium with the one versus four matchups in all divisions.
