Tavistock Cup, Moving to The Bahamas

After a decade of staging the Tavistock Cup, Tavistock Group will join forces with Tiger Woods and his Foundation to jointly own and host The World Challenge. Stemming from a long-standing relationship between principals, Joe Lewis and Tiger Woods, this year’s golf tournament will be held on December 1 – 7 at Isleworth Golf & Country Club before moving to Albany in The Bahamas in 2015.

The World Challenge has a rich 15-year history and is a premier PGA TOUR event with Official World Golf Ranking points and a top purse at stake. Historically attracting the best in golf, The World Challenge will continue to feature a stellar field when hosted at Isleworth and serve as an important season-ending event. The unique partnership between Tavistock Group and the Tiger Woods Foundation will also strengthen committed philanthropic efforts for both organizations.

Dedicated to excellence in everything it does, Tavistock Group views this evolutionary step as a tremendous opportunity, expanding the event to include a Pro-Am, exclusive sponsor and fan get-togethers, and a four-day stroke play tournament broadcast to an international audience on NBC Sports.

Tavistock Cup pioneered many unique player and fan experiences, becoming one of the most distinctive spectator sporting events in the world and a coveted ticket for golf enthusiasts. Proud of its history, Tavistock Group looks forward to infusing the new World Challenge with its exceptional attention to hospitality, unparalleled experiences on site and on air, and special elements that help define the organizations, its people and its properties.
