Gardiner Joins Grand Slam Track League

We got a glimpse of the Steven Gardiner comeback trail last month at his outdoor opener, well now Gardiner is back to form and ready take on the best in the world once again.

The former 400m Olympic Champion has signed on to join the newly formed Grand Slam Track League for the remainder of the season.

The league hosted its inaugural meet earlier this month in Kingston, Jamaica and the next stop will be May 2nd to 4th in Miami, Florida.

Gardiner will be competing as part of the men’s long sprints race group, facing off against Matthew Hudson-Smith, Muzala Samukonga, and Jereem Richards.

The Grand Slam Track League is a new global professional track and field circuit founded by Olympic Legend Michael Johnson,

It features a total prize pool of over $12 million and winners in each event can receive up to $100,000 per slam.

Gardiner opened his 2025 outdoor season in Miami last month with a win in the 300m.

The 2020 Olympic Champion and two-time world championships medallist also holds the Bahamian national record in the 200m, 300m, and 400m.
