The Houston Cougars have won in every way imaginable so far in the NCAA tournament, from a blowout to a thrilling finish. One thing is for certain they’ve been prepared to face anything, must be the strength and conditioning program.
Bryan clarke, assistant strength coach for the number one ranked Cougars saw his program advance to its seventh Final Four in school history.
In the Midwest Region, the Cougars defeated the number two seed Tennessee Vols, 69-50, Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Clarke, a former St. John’s College and Texas Southern grad joined the Cougars support staff in 2021 and serves in his role for both the men’s and women’s teams.
Also in the Midwest Region, Mikhail Mclean, assistant coach for the third seeded Kentucky Wildcats saw his team eliminated in the Sweet 16 with a 78-65 loss to Tennessee.
In the women’s tournament, Spokane Regional 1 – Coach Yo, Rhema Collins and no.5 Ole Miss were eliminated in the Sweet 16 with a 76-62 loss to the top seeded UCLA Bruins.
Ole Miss concluded the season 22-11 and reached their 12th Sweet 16 in school history.
In her sophomore season, Collins appeared in 13 games ,averaged 3.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game highlighted by a career-high 12 points against Tennessee State.
