VJ Edgecombe did it all Wednesday night, assertive on both ends of the floor, efficient from the field, and he put the team on his back to overcome a second half deficit, basically he looked exactly like a one and done should.
Edgecombe scored a career high 30 points to lead his Baylor Bears to a 70-62 win over the Kansas State Wildcats last night at Foster Pavilion in Waco, Texas.
The Bears were already on a two game losing streak and looked to be headed for loss number three when they trailed K-State 40-28.
Edgecombe took over and scored 20 in the second half alone, including eight straight points on a 13-2 run.
His three gave the Bears a 55-50 lead with six minutes left to play.
Edgecome shot 8-13 from the field, made three threes and was 11-12 from the line.
The Bears improved to 12-6 overall, 4-3 in the Big 12.
Staying in the Big 12, AJ Storr and the 12th ranked kansas jayhawks won 74-61 over the TCU Horned Frogs at Schollmeir Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Storr was one of five Jayhawks players in double figures with 12 points.
Another player with a big second half, Storr scored 10 of his 12 after the break to help Kansas erase a 14 point deficit.
His stepback jumper with just over 11 minutes left to play gave the Jayhawks the lead for good.
Kansas improved to 14-4, 5-2 in the Big 12.
On the west coast, Deyton Albury and his Utah State Aggies defeated Nevada 90-69 at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Utah.
Albury got the start and finished with nine points in 21 minutes.
Utah State improved to 17-2, 7-1 in the Mountain West
