Add This To Your Playlist – Ye Ali

by TIMMY

As the resident 10YS music snob, it’s my job to inform you of all the good music you’re missing out on while you waste your life listening to top 40 on the radio – TIMMAY

In the last 4-5 years, “sing rapping” has been the wave and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. T-Pain is still the undisputed GOAT, with Drake & Future (dem boys always up to something) being the kings of everyone’s iTunes. Several  emerging  artists have adopted the style and made a name for themselves in the last 2-3 years.

Fetty Wap, K Camp, Tory Lanez, Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, ILoveMakonnen, Post Malone, Kevin Gates & PARTYNEXTDOOR are the recipients of careers thanks to “sing rapping”. One artist that has been grinding since 2011 is prime to be the next name on this list; Ye Ali.

I first heard about Ye Ali in early 2014, when i was trying to get a feature for my artist Jay Complex‘s first official single for his upcoming project. Thanks to the power of the Internet, Yusef (his real name) was featured on [D]rowning [U]nder [I]influence. Yes, the next big thing has a Bahamian connection! After this feature, the Indiana raised artist moved to LA and really started to work on his craft. Today, he is known as the Traphouse Jodeci (THJ).

For two years, Ye Ali built his following on twitter with random singles like “Tingz” (featured above), Ring4x and collabs with Kirko Bangz (yes he still makes music). He teased THJ for two years, and finally dropped the project on iTunes this past Friday. Ye Ali’s style of music isn’t going to make you feel like a drug dealer or a top shotta. What it will do is definitely get your lady in the mood, and that’s the reason why his debut project is the start to him being the next artist to blow, especially with songs like “What To Do” featuring K Camp. Check out the project below (with a lady friend) and thank me later!
