Top 10 sneakers for high school and college hoopers this season

It’s September!! That’s right, summer is officially done. No more going downtown on Friday nights, no more Cabbage Beach Sunday’s and definitely no more traffic free streets.

Despite how depressing it may seem, September is also a blessing.

It means that basketball season is just an arm’s reach away.

I know the high school and college guys won’t not be able to switch up their rotations like the pro’s, so I put together a list of kicks that they can’t go wrong with copping for this season.

10. Adidas D Lillard 2.0.

The D Lillard 2 should be a top option for any guard. The cushioning on them is second to none, but at the same time, they’re still comfortable enough to make sharp cuts and you don’t have to sacrifice speed. They’re also outdoor friendly. They offer a continental rubber outsole and Torsion System for arch support.

9. Crazylight Boost Low 2016

Another shoe tailored more for those that handle the rock. They were inspired by James Harden, a slasher with insane handle, who’s also an aggressive driver. These are extremely soft and provide a lot of bounce. They’re super responsive, have a stable frame and come in an array of sick colorways that easily make it a good option for a team shoe.

8. Nike Lebron Soldier X

This one is for heavier, more explosive players. Lighter, smaller players may not find them to be a great fit. They’re kind of bulky, but have good traction. The foot support is decent for hightops and they’re very durable.

7. Nike Kobe XI Elite

Although they may be a little spacey on the inside, they are pretty comfortable for the most part. They feature a soft inner material and mesh tongue. They may lack a bit in the traction department and are best suited for indoor courts. However, for a low shoe, the Kobe 11’s offer a lot of support. They are very low and close to the floor, which provides top-notch stability.

6. Under Armour Curry 2

They fit true to size, but those with wider feet should go a half size up. This shoe is a bit of a tweener, which makes it even more attractive. They offer a thin look and feel and will really mold well to your feet. Although they have a boxed toe, they aren’t stiff like most shoes that have the same feature.

5. Kyrie 2

Nike-Kyrie-2-7

The Kyrie 2 fits way better than the Kyrie 1’s, which were a struggle to put on at times and were way too narrow. They lock in very well and you can go true to size. They offer solid traction and are perfect for players who want a lot of court feel and responsiveness to their moves.

4. Nike Hyperdunk 2016

They are very versatile. They feel a bit more comfortable than the mid top version, and while the cushion in them isn’t mind blowing, it’s not bad either. The 2016 Hyperdunk’s are set up to match any play style and they’re great for both indoor and outdoor.

3. Adidas Crazyexplosive Primeknit

They are ultra soft and ultra bouncy. They are comfortable, lightweight and come in a lot of different colorways. The Primeknit material keeps on getting better, the support is incredible and for just $150, it’s hard to come across a better buy. I think they’re appropriate for guards, forwards and even centers.

2. Air Jordan 30

Air-Jordan-30-3

This is what you call a basketball shoe. They feature fully unlocked Zoom Air units in the forefoot and in the heel, which make them tough and sturdy. The Flyknit material is very light, soft and extremely flexible. The traction on them is probably the best out of the bunch and the support has been improved since the Jordan 29’s.

  1. Nike KD 9

The cushion set up in these is really good. Probably the best out of all the basketball sneakers released so far this year. They are extremely light, and offer top notch ventilation and comfort. They should be bought true to size. The traction on these is outstanding, and the cushioning on the inside will make you want to buy another pair.
